Born into a family of craftsmen and raised around job sites, Stephen Erb’s passion for construction began early. After studying business at Concordia College, he pursued hands-on building full-time, gaining experience in everything from remodels to full residential builds.

In 2015, he founded Premier Builders LLC, working alongside his father and earning a reputation for quality, integrity, and innovation. In 2023, Stephen partnered with Brenin Richardson of White Oak Home Solutions, which led him to join forces with Mike Carlson of The Carlson Group. Together with his wife Savannah—whose design talents play a key role in each project—they launched Refine Homes in 2025 after acquiring Summers Construction in Vergas, MN.

Stephen lives in Detroit Lakes with Savannah and their four children. When he’s not building homes, he’s leading Bible studies, playing drums on the worship team, or spending time outdoors with his family.
